Who We Help

How We Work

We start with understanding.

We take time to listen and understand your story, your concerns, your goals, and the factors that may be influencing your well-being.

We look for patterns.

Together we explore the many areas that can impact mental health and daily functioning, including:

• Sleep
• Stress
• Nervous system regulation
• Learning and attention
• Lifestyle habits
• Relationships
• Emotional health
• Medical and psychiatric history

We create an individualized plan.

We develop a personalized plan that may include one or more of the following:

• Parent guidance and coaching
• School collaboration
• Lifestyle and nervous system strategies
• Therapy recommendations
• Further evaluation when appropriate
• Medication management when helpful

Our goal is to help you better understand what may be contributing to difficulties and create a clear, supportive path forward towards improved stability or other supports.

Meet Makenna Francis, PMHNP-BC

I provide individualized psychiatric care with an approach that considers mental and emotional health, nervous system regulation, physical health, and broader life context. My work varies by age and individual needs.

Adults

I provide psychiatric care for adults (18+), with clinical interests including attention concerns, anxiety, emotional well-being, and women’s mental health.

My approach is generally conservative and intentional. When appropriate, I prefer to make changes gradually, allow time to understand response, and avoid unnecessary complexity. I may also consider relevant laboratory findings, physical health factors, and lifestyle as part of the broader clinical picture.

Children & Adolescents

For children and adolescents (17 and under), my work focuses on evaluation, education, and consultation related to attention, learning, and academic concerns. I work with families to better understand factors that may be affecting learning and functioning and to identify appropriate next steps and academic supports.
